well. went to orthopedic dr. I for sure have infectious Tenosynovitis :( He said it was resolving, but then decided he didn't want me to take the drugs the ER gave me. Evidentally 875 mg of augmentin isn't enough. So he says take these. 500 mg of kflex and 500 mg of levoquin ?? says its like a cock roach u can throw these 2 at it and it won't survive. Well...............I feel that the other medicine is working and I am not taking the other 2. I don't feel that I need to dump all those drugs into my system. i feel my finger is healing, its looking better, swelling going down, redness going down. So i will continue on. I go back on tuesday and if its not better he said we have to do surgery. He put me in a cast I cannot get out of.
Well.......He thought i couldn't but i figured out a way. I am not taking it off though ,but with myanxiety i need to know it can come off and it will :)
Okay itsvery hard to type wtihthis cast. SO i amgonna go.
Have a great weekend!

Hey augmentin is the antibiotic that is most used for kids and the other two are stronger.
Have you had your finger nails done in one of those nail salons? I have a friend that has an infection in her bone from an unclean nail salon.
I'm so sorry you have so much anziety over the pills but when dealing with an infection you do need to use a pretty strong antibiotic if it is a deep infection like in the tnedion or bone.
My friends cleared up with augmention when it first happened but then a year later came back and now is untratable except with the removal of her finger so PLEASE take the pills the specialist recommended I have heard of both and they are good at what they do most antibiotics like that the only side effects you are going to have are diarehea (sp?) as it cleans all the ickies out.
Hugs sister stranger friend and take care of yourself!
Oh Dianna,
I am so rry to hear about your thumb, the cast and infection...
How horrible that you can't take pills
Hang in there Girlie!

Diana, Diana, Diana,
Let me get this straight, you were given augmentin from ER and the specialist wants you to take two others? You are sticking with the ER meds rather than the meds the specialist wants you to take? Why wouldn't you trust a specialist who put you in a permanent cast and told you if there is no improvement you will need surgery?
And, did you get the pain medication filled?
yup I am sticking with the ones from the ER Dr. They are working, my infection is clearing up. I don't see any reason to take 2 more drugs, 1 of which has gluten. If the infection is going away why not stick with the one thats working? This is no joke, in 10 years i have taken antibiotics twice. I don't take pain meds of any sort, i feel I can just deal with the pain. Thats how i monitor if i am getting better. The pain meds, the lortabs, iwatched my cousin get addicted to those, kyle has taken them, my brother has taken them and both said they didn't relieve the pain at all just make them sleepy, so why bother , when i can tolerate it. Plus the pain is gone now. I know you are just worried, but you don't understand my celiacs disease, has damaged my small intestines, ihave quite abit of damage. Some of it non reversible. I just got over shigella, which left ulcers in my large intestines. KFlex gave me antibiotic colitis and made me sick. I just feel iknow my own body better than a specialist who saw me for 5 min and didn't seem tohear when i gave my history. As long as the infection is going away, ifeel that i am fine. If for some chance it gets worse i have theother 2 meds to rely on but i feel that its getting much better!
Thanks!
Love
dianna
Who'da thunk even meds have gluten? Weird. Go with your instincts Di, you know you best :) xoxo melzie
good luck...you are in my thoughts and prayers and I to refused alot of the pills they gave me due to my other problems...I used to use prilosec for my ulcers but then I got sicker and it didn't work, now I am on Nexium, and I am gonna stop because it makes me dizzy...I am suppsed to have 39 pills a day but I refused some so now I am down to 30...still like 29 to many lol..
Yeah, I would have never thought of gluten in a medication!
Of course I'm worried, You need your thumb!
I worry about addiction as well, since I've watched it happen to so many of my friends.
I weaned myself off of all my pain medication after my back surgery.
I was actually getting yelled at for not using the morphine pump.
My thoughts on a doctor that doesn't pay attention, find another doctor.
I'm glad that you are feeling improvement from yesterday afternoon. :)
Hey love...so sorry to hear about your infection...that has SO gotta hurt! :(
I understand the taking off the cast thing...I think that I woild do the same!
Hugs to you...get well soon!
Love,
Sarah
